Dr. Cho have primarily focused my research on cancer studies with the aim of identifying biomarkers for cancer diagnosis, treatment prediction, and prognosis. He is a Chartered Scientist granted by the Science Council (UK), a Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner (HK), Guest Professor of a number of Universities and a Fellow Member of several institutes, including the Institute of Biomedical Science (UK), Hong Kong Institute of Biomedical Science and Hong Kong Society for Molecular Diagnostic Sciences. Dr Cho has contributed over 600 peer-reviewed SCI papers to reputable journals including Lancet, Lancet Oncology, Annals of Oncology, Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Advanced Science, Nature Communications, PNAS, Molecular Cancer, Journal of Thoracic Oncology, Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Journal of Extracellular Vesicles, Clinical Cancer Research, Clinical Chemistry, Theranostics, etc, among others. These publications cover a wide range of topics including cancer biomarkers, proteomics, non-coding RNAs, extracellular vesicles, and Chinese medicine. Additionally, Dr Cho has authored a number of books, including "MicroRNAs in Cancer Translational Research", "An Omics Perspective on Cancer Research", "Supportive Cancer Care with Chinese Medicine", and "Drug Repurposing in Cancer Therapy: Approaches and Applications", to name a few. Currently, Dr Cho‘s H-index (WOS) stands at 68, and his published papers have garnered over 4,000 cumulative impact factors from prestigious journals, along with more than 25,000 citations.
Dr. Cho is listed as one of the top 2% of most influential scientists in the world since 2017. Recently, Dr Cho is also listed in the Highly Cited Researchers in 2023 by Clarivate (there are just 6,849 top scientists in the world in this list).
